A little about me...

Welcome to Naturally Better Me and thank you for visiting my site.  I’m Heather, a naturopathic nutritional therapist passionate about improving health through nutrition and lifestyle changes.  Do you like the idea of future-proofing yourself and extending your health-span, not just your life-span, so you can anticipate your later years with excitement and confidence, rather than fear and dread?  Building long-term strength, resilience, balance and wellness is what I love to help my clients with.

I'm based in the beautiful town of Wilmslow in Cheshire.

Gut health and digestion are central themes in my practice as this is a crucial gateway to the rest of the body.  The gut houses 70% of our immune system.  An imbalanced microbiome, damage from antibiotics or leaky intestinal barriers, can all set off a chain of events leading to long-term health complaints.

I believe in balance, fun, having a social life, am realistic and approachable and will meet you where you’re at.  Consistently making small changes which gradually add up ensures a journey of sustainable healthy habits suited to you, rather than relying on an impossible amount of willpower.

Going beyond symptoms, to identify and address root causes and imbalances, conditions I support include:

  • Digestive issues

  • Healthy ageing

  • Joint pain

  • Energy levels

  • Blood glucose levels

  • Hormonal support

  • Weight management

  • Heart health

  • Immune health

  • Sleep and mood

Having experienced firsthand the frustration that can come from limited health advice and support within traditional healthcare, my passion is about providing clear, informative, science-backed guidance to empower you to take control of your health and thrive at every stage of life.  Helping you feel your best and equipping you with the tools to sustain long-term health is at the heart of everything I do.

I look forward to working together to create a personalised plan that aligns with your health goals, leading to a healthier, happier future self - starting from within.  If you are interested, there's a small section below called "My Story" which gives a little insight into my background and motivation so you know a bit more about who I am too!

My Story

So how did I end up as a nutritional therapist?  It's far from what I used to do... for almost 20 years I worked for my family business, involved in manufacturing for the education sector, and had a client-facing role involving mainly accounts and sales.  I loved this, but was craving a career where I could really make a difference and get my teeth into a subject I was really passionate about.  Hence... I retrained as a nutritional therapist.  And I love it!

I’ve had tummy troubles since childhood (doctors once called them “a migraine in your tummy"). Flare-ups followed me through my teens, twenties and beyond, so I know how disruptive, painful and exhausting this can be, not to mention trying over the counter remedies which could be super-painful.

This is a driving motivation behind my love for gut health.  Until I learned to address my own symptoms long-term I hadn't realised how often I actually did have tummy troubles, especially linked to feeling anxious or nervous about things.  So learning about how the gut-brain axis works was especially fascinating to me when I was training and remains a central theme throughout my practice.

Now, I’m a qualified nutritional therapist, trained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, and work with people to bring relief through targeted nutrition—so you can feel comfortable, confident, and finally back in control.

A bit more about me: I enjoy jogging, strength training, socialising with friends, family time, travels, good food (of course!), cosy nights by the fire, spoiling my elderly cat, and diving into cookbooks for my next kitchen adventure!
